     Peter Ryan, Executive Director, released the following statement in response to news that Health Minister Brad Green has found two hospitals to perform abortions: 

     “We are very saddened by this news. Sad for the babies and moms that will be affected. 

     “The big question is, how many abortions will they perform, what grounds of medical necessity will they accept? Will it be like the Chalmers, where it was basically abortion on demand? If so that’s a terrible abuse, a violation of Medicare which is not supposed to fund abortion on demand. Mr. Green should clarify that won’t happen. Aborting an unwanted pregnancy is not a medical necessity. Pregnancy is not a disease.”
