Comments on Success of 2007 National Pro-Life Conference in

Moncton

Fredericton, NB, Nov. 7, 2007
-  NB Right to Life Director Peter Ryan commented today on the tremendous success of the 2007 National Pro-Life Conference, held Oct. 25-27 in Moncton.

“I'm overwhelmed by the positive feedback I've received from literally dozens of people. From everything I can gather, this was truly a grace-filled time of favor from the Lord for those who attended. Numbers exceeded expectations: 340 people from all 10 provinces!

“People speak of the quality and variety of speakers; the well-rounded program with strong components of entertainment, prayer and activism; the faith atmosphere and beautiful fellowship. I believe by the grace of God we have accomplished what we set out to do: to re-energize the pro-life movement in Canada.”

As conference chair Mr. Ryan added that “So many people deserve thanks:

- the 13 speakers who gave us so much of their knowledge and wisdom

- all those who attended, sacrificing time and most often money, and blessing us with their friendship  and spirit

- those (pro-life groups, etc.) whose generous sponsorship made it possible for people to attend

- the national sponsor organizations, Campaign Life Coalition and LifeCanada

- the host chapter, Moncton Right to Life, and its volunteers who worked so hard and helped in a myriad of ways

- those who helped in any way to publicize this event, including two Christian radio stations

- various organizations who cooperated by not holding events that might conflict with ours

- those who billeted out of town guests

- those who drove speakers and others around town

- the “responders” who commented on the various talks

- the various exhibitors from near and far

- those who advertised in our conference program

- the Mistress (Elizabeth Crouchman) and Master of Ceremonies (Clarence Cormier)

- our office staff and volunteers who assisted so greatly with registration and publicity

- the simultaneous translator and the Knights of Columbus that provided his services

- the audiovisual technicians

- the organizing committee (Linda and Moe Arsenault, Susan Leger, Yoli Singson)

- the folks who put on the boat cruise

- local artist Stephen Bauckman for his beautiful artwork

- the three young Acadian musicians who performed for us

- those who led us in prayer; the pastor at Assumption Cathedral for letting us have Mass there and his pastoral support team for assisting us

- those whose very presence was an inspiration and morale boost (Sisters of Life, the Archbishop of Moncton, various clergy, leaders from the Catholic Women’s League and Knights of Columbus, etc.)

- the cities of Moncton and Dieppe and the Town of Riverview for their hospitality

- the staff of the Crowne Plaza Hotel for their excellent services

- the Board of NB Right to Life for their unstinting support of this event

- those who prayed for us

- our families who supported our involvement in the conference

- all those others we may have overlooked or forgotten!”

The 2008 National Conference will be held next fall in Toronto .
