This year’s theme is "From sea unto sea - for Life!" This theme is a pro-life variation on Canada’s national motto, "A mari usque ad mare," which incidentally originates in New Brunswick having been proposed by Canadian Father of Confederation, Sir Leonard Tilley. A pro-life application of the motto, moreover, is entirely germane to its religious origin in Psalm 72, which speaks prophetically of how precious the blood of the poor and lowly is in God’s sight, and how "from fraud and violence he shall redeem them." We pray that this conference is a vehicle through which God will act to redeem his littlest ones in our great country so steeped in bloodshed.
